Biography
Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami) was born on 20th October 1972 in Gombe State, Nigeria. His mother was Hajiya Amina Umar Aliyu and his father was Alhaji Ali Ibrahim Pantami. Dr Pantami is an accomplished and seasoned IT professional with extensive local and international experience in diverse areas of Computing, Cybersecurity, Oil & Gas and Technology Management. Adept in handling administrative, leadership and academic responsibilities with an excellent degree of success. Held various academic positions in different Universities and resource person for many institutes including National Defence College, National Institute for Policy & Strategic Studies, Nigeria Army Resource Centre, and National Institute for Security Studies. Served as Convocation Lecturer to various Universities.
Educated at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Robert Gordon University, Scotland UK, Harvard University, University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, among others. Current Minister of Communications and Digital Economy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria since August, 2019 in addition to being the Chief Digital Officer of the Federation.
Also, former Director General (DG)/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) as well as Nigeria’s Chief Information
Technology Officer (CITO); whereat the first ever department of Cybersecurity was established for the Agency.
